Service Description

Homeschool Portfolio Development is a comprehensive art program for homeschool children designed to deepen understanding of the impact that art has had on civilization while nurturing each student's artistic voice and desire to create. This year-long program runs from September to May and is divided into four quarters, each exploring segments of art history, cultural connections, and applied art-making approaches. Students do not need to enroll for the entire year, but will build and grow each quarter if they choose to participate in the full school year program. Students develop personal portfolios that showcase learning goals and competencies and final works of art. Students gain proficiency in various art media and tools, creating works that reflects artistic growth self expression and mastery of skills. Several local field trips are built into the final quarter of the curriculum that allow us to explore how professional artists forge creative careers that bring art making into the world of work. Students are invited to showcase final works in our end of quarter art shows that celebrate diversity and expression through the visual arts. *Please dress for a mess! Even though we cover up with aprons before lessons, there is always a chance for paint and other materials that stain to get on children’s clothing. We want our students to feel comfortable when they’re at the studio to create freely without worry of ruining favorite clothes. Refund policy: Any refund or change requested after booking is subject to an 8% processing fee. Refunds will be processes in full, minus the processing fee from the time of booking until 14 days prior to lesson start date. No refunds are given after 14 days prior to lesson start date. No discounts can be applied, refunded, or credited after registration has been processed. If it is decided by staff, after consideration of the studio behavior policy, that a student can no longer attend art lessons a full refund for lessons that cannot be attended will be made. No refunds will be given for discounts that could have been used after registration processing. (ie. you realized after registering that you could have applied the sibling discount). This is due to processing fees out-weighing the savings of the discount when they are processed separately. No refunds will be given for missed lessons.
